Our Boys Home!

After a year in Afghanistan, taday we wen’t an picked up our boy! Was a nerve rackin year fer sure, but now we get back ta bein a family!

That be one happy momma!

With our two grandaughters! Our oldest grandaughter was thrilled that this day finally came, be hard on a 4 year old! She was a hollerin “daddy” the whole time we was there!

We wish the rest a the troops comin home peace an happiness an hope they can get back ta a normal life with their families, they sure nough earned it!

An ta those still servin overseas, God Bless an look out fer em, they need all the help they can get an we pray fer a swift an safe journey home!

Basics fer the Garmin GPSmap60CSx

Ok, wen’t through an come up with these basic instructions fer the Garmin unit. I ain’t no proffesional with this thing, still learnin, but this el get ya a start anywho.

CREATE WAYPONIT FOR CURRENT LOCATION
Press MARK button. This will enter yalls current location.
Edit yer way point, ya can change the marker an add a title. The unit asigns a generic number if ya don’t edit that waypoint.
Highlight “OK” an press ENTER button ta save the new location.

CREATE WAYPOINT WITH COORDINATES
Press the MARK button.
Change the current coodinates to those yall wish ta travel ta.
Change the symbol an waypoint name an then save it.

SELECT WAYPOINT TO NAVIGATE
Press FIND key.
Highlight “waypoint” an press ENTER key.
Select what waypoint yall wanna use an press ENTER.

NAVIGATING USING THE POINTER PAGE
Select the waypoint yall wanna use.
Press PAGE button until ponter page be displayed.
This page has speed an distance at the top along with waypoint an pointer arrow.

NAVIGATING WITH MAP PAGE
Select what waypoint yall wanna use.
Then press ENTER button.
Highlight GOTO an press ENTER button.
Press PAGE button until map page comes up.
Speed an distance show up at the top.
Zoom IN an OUT works on this here page.

STOP NAVIGATION
After yall get ta the waypoint yer usin, ya wanna stop navigation so ya can enter yer next waypoint.
Press MENU key.
Highlight “stop navigation”.
Press ENTER key.

DELETE WAYPOINT
Go to main menu.
Pick tracks.
Press ENTER button.
Press PAGE button.
Select way pont.
Highlight “delete”.
Press ENTER.

Ya highlight things on the pages usin the rocker key, the large button in the middle with the 4 arrows.

This will get yall started, best thin ta do is go out an play with it. Geocachin be a fun way ta learn the GPS.

GPS – How ta use it.

Got a handheld GPS from momma fer Christmas. Been strugglin ta use it an learn bout it. Last week we had a CERT trainin exercise on how ta use them. The ones we got on the team be a bit different but many a the directions be very similar fer my unit. I’m gonna go through it all an I’ll post up some directions.

Made up another fire striker taday fer flint an steel. This en be smaller then what I generally make, but fer a smaller kit. Also, this got a awl on the end fer leather work an such stead a the double monkey tail.
