BACK OUT ON BLACK POND
We wen’t out yesterday, rained all day but momma wanted to go anywho. Wasn’t bad even with the rain, but then a wind blew in an we started gettin lightnin, so paddeled back in along shore an called er a day.
Today was much nicer, so the boys come over an we all wen’t back out again. Boys did some fishin an I found a nice chunk a wood what I’m gonna carve this winter fer a walkin stick.
Here be the boys workin some downed trees, produced a few nice smallmouth bass.
Picture a me an momma fore we headed out. Won’t be many a these trips left, fall comin on fast an then them daggummed long winter days.
A DAY ON BLACK POND
We took our canoe out ta Black Pond taday, our two boys came along an the eldest brought his new canoe to. Was a fine sunny, warm day with a nice breeze. A day well spent on the water.
The view across the pond. Nice place with plenty a bluegill an smallmouth bass.
Our two boys with the eldest’s new canoe.
Momma with our Pelican Bayou square stern.
Paddelin round Black Pond.
The boys did a bit a fishin.
Our eldest managed ta hook his own finger! Had ta dig that treble hook out!
Was a fine day on the water. Gotta enjoy em while we can cause fall is comin an won’t be long an the snow will fly.
OUR NEW CANOE
So here be our new canoe. We wen’t an picked her up taday in Harmony Mn., She’s heavy at 125 pounds but mighty well built. Will be puttin a 50 pound thrust electric trollin motor on it. This will be our new fishin buggy. She goes out fer her maiden voyage next Sunday, we’ll let ya know how things go.
Hey folks, we just bought ua a 16 1/2 foot Pelican Bayou. She got a square stern an 950 lb capacity! Be the Clydesdale a canoes!
So with that in mind, we’ll post some a our adventures in canoein here. Been 30 years since I been on the water. Kinda anxious ta get back at it. Should be fun, our son what just got home from Afghanistan just bought one to. Be good way ta fish an spend time tagether!
So check back from time ta time, we’ll see what happens here!
